Who We Are

Connecting ocular inflammatory disease professionals through education, research, collaboration, and community.

The American Uveitis Society (AUS) is a professional organization of more than 300 ophthalmologists, rheumatologists, physician-scientists, trainees, and researchers dedicated to advancing the understanding and care of ocular inflammatory diseases. Our members represent a diverse community of clinicians and investigators united by a shared commitment to preserving vision and improving the lives of patients affected by uveitis and related inflammatory eye conditions.

AUS serves as a collaborative forum where experts across disciplines come together to exchange scientific knowledge, advance innovative research, support mentorship and professional development, and promote excellence in patient-centered clinical care. Through education, advocacy, and scholarly collaboration, we strive to strengthen the field of ocular immunology and inflammation while fostering an inclusive and engaged professional community.

We are committed to advancing equitable access to high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with ocular inflammatory diseases worldwide. By supporting emerging leaders, encouraging interdisciplinary partnerships, and promoting scientific discovery, AUS aims to shape the future of ocular inflammatory disease research, education, and clinical practice.
