Membership in the American Uveitis Society is open to all physicians and researchers with an active role in the care of patients with uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease or who are currently performing research in an area directly applicable to the field of ocular inflammatory disease or ocular immunology.

Specific criteria for membership are:

Full Member

• Completion of an AUPO compliant uveitis fellowship, whether fully licensed or not. One reference must be from the program director of the fellowship indicating successful completion OR
• Practice emphasis or research emphasis of at least 30% in patients devoted to uveitis patients, with reporting of the full scope of their clinical practice OR
• Two publications in uveitis within the last 5 years (please submit abstract and PDF of articles). Recommended to submit publications as first or senior or corresponding author
• 2 References (ALL) If you completed a uveitis fellowship, please list your program director as one of your references

Member in Training

• Ophthalmology resident OR
• Ophthalmology fellow (including uveitis fellow) OR
• Research fellow (predoctoral or post-doctoral)
• 1 Reference. If you are in a training program, please use your program director as a reference.

Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee admission to membership. All applications, once complete, are reviewed by the AUS Membership Committee and then submitted for consideration for membership to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee meets twice yearly in conjunction with the AUS Spring and Fall meetings at ARVO and AAO, respectively.
