VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR UVEITIS GENETICS RESEARCH
Oregon Health Sciences University Tammy M. Martin, Ph.D.
We
are conducting a research study to search for genes or genetic factors that
contribute to the development of UVEITIS (also called IRITIS). Many patients
with uveitis have family members that also have uveitis. Our ultimate goal is
to be able to treat or even prevent uveitis by better understanding the
genetics of this disease. Participants
will be asked to provide personal medical details that relate to their disease,
and to have a blood sample drawn which will be used for DNA testing.
If
your family has two or more individuals who suffer from UVEITIS or IRITIS, then
we invite you to participate in this study. We especially need families with
siblings (i.e. brothers and sisters) who have this disease.
You
will not personally benefit from participating in this study. However, by
participating as a subject, you may contribute new information which we believe
will benefit patients in the future. If you wish to participate or
have questions about the study, please contact the Study Coordinator, Barbara
Rajska, by phone: 503-494-3689 or email
