Cystoid Macular Edema
Swelling located in the portion of the retina that provides the central vision. This almost always results in decreased vision. The exact cause is unknown, but chemicals released inside the eye during inflammation are believed to reach the back of the eye, causing fluid to leak into the retina. This condition is also called "CME".
