Autoimmune
Autoimmunity is a process wherein an individual`s immune system mounts a misdirected attack against that person's own tissues, which can include the eye. Many types of uveitis are considered to be autoimmune diseases. Other conditions that are due to autoimmunity include rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
